Michel KARAKACH (drums) and Armando BABLANIAN (guitar) met while going to high school in Kuwait and made plans to pursue a musical project once they were able to finish their schooling. Armando soon moved to Canada and was part of the band TILL I CONQUER. Michel earned his dental degree and immigrated to Canada where he and Armando teamed up with the bassist Liam HORRIGAN from the band OPEN SEASON from Ottawa and DEVEV was born. At this point, they were able to record and release their debut EP "Leap of Faith" in 2021.

DEREV's style is a combination of metal and old-school progressive rock that also incorporates elements of their Arabic and Armenian cultures. The music is sure to appeal to fans of HILLWARD, ATRAVAN, KONOM, CHAIN REAKTOR, MISSION JUPITER and PALE MANNEQUIN
