Biografía de The Fall
The Fall es una banda post-punk formada en Manchester en 1976. La banda ha existido de varias formas desde entonces, siendo esencialmente conformada alrededor de su fundador y único miembro constante, Mark E. Smith. Inicialmente asociados con el movimiento punk de finales los '70, su música ha atravesado varios estilos, pero siempre se caracterizó por su uso abrasivo de la guitarra y la frecuente repetición de melodías, creando así un sonido que la particular voz de Smith y sus crípticas letras hacén único.
The Fall es una banda prolífica: hasta febrero del 2008 han editado 26 álbumes, y muchos más si se cuenta la cantidad de álbumes en vivo y otras ediciones. Nunca tuvieron demasiada repercusión o éxito a nivel masivo, por lo cual se la considera una banda de culto. La banda era una de las favoritas del ya difunto DJ de la BBC John Peel, quien una vez llegó a decir de The Fall: "siempre diferentes... siempre iguales"
