Najednou však svíce záøí -
tichý smích - a zas je klid.
Dveøe vrznuly - zavál noèní chlad,
temná postava do komnaty vchází.
V èerný rubáš zahalená,
jen oèi jí ve tmì záøí.
Rychlý pohyb - stojí u postelí,
sklání se a šeptá slova smrti.
Vzpøímí se a vztáhne ruce,
dvì živá srdce v pìstích drtí.
Ráno byli nalezeni manželé již mrtvi,
- jak zemøeli nikdo neví.
Øíkalo se, že snad žili v høíchu,
Temnotám, že oni patøili...!
