Stacking shelves to pass the time

I'm 28 in Cathedral Grove
Here in Canada the trees can grow,
In their quiet life they reach the sky
One’s 70 metres high!

And I’d read a book on the evergreens
They’d taken town in the 70s
Planted there for their privacy
But they wouldn’t stop you meeting me

Came home that summer and I didn’t leave

I’d slipped up once on a wedding floor
From then just stood there watching

And now we’ve joined the swimming pool
And this July I’ll marry you

The same old chalky walks
