Bing entered the studio on July 25, 1944, without having seen nor heard the
song. Within 30 minutes he recorded the song, which then sold more than a
million copies and topped the Billboard charts for 8 weeks in 1944-45.
Thge following is as recorded by Crosby and The Andrew Sisters. It deviates from the original Cole Porter Version. The original doesn't contain the parenthetical elements.
