Our crops were destroyed and our cattle dispersed
Their punishment severe, well planned and rehearsed
With cold-blooded cruelty and hearts filled with hate
Reckless and lawless they delivered our fate

With the wind cutting through me, I'm surrounded by tears
We all tell the same stories of torture and fear
In Halifax Town we should dock any day
But my hearts with my family and where they now lay
Now our only crime was to fight and defend
Our own native Scotland our land ‘til the end
The plan of the crown was to scatter the clans
To kill and betray and possess all the lands

And they forced us with famine and torture to run
To leave our own country and never return
They denied us our culture, our language, our dress
They’ve taken the land where our ancestors rest
They murdered you all when they burned down our home

Now I’ve sailed all the ocean a new land to live
But their names and their dates I’ll never forget
