are as them, captives in the void

energy harboured by the woods surrounding us
and our faith in evil's purity
transform our clarity into a curse

all we see, our bodies, escape the strains of earthly life
all we are, mental shapes, dreams within a dream
all we carry with us to remind us of the life we led -
are the names we bore
a surge of power rises up, embraces us, and casts us
down to earth again
and the vision is no more
