How I wish this tired tragedy was just a fading dream
Even now wrapped in the darkness
You’re the light calling to me
Dusting off the happy memories a feeling comes to mind
Like returning to a better time when I had called you mine

It was you who taught me many things and helped me on my way
There’re joys here in this wide world that could never be replaced
All the pain that I had hid away and buried out of sight-
It was only by your gentle touch they ever came to light
Never more could I feel pain
Any more than I did that day
Round and round I'm just stuck in place I can’t get away

Even all the tears that we were shedding
Even all the pain I try forgetting
I could bear it all if I was with you it won’t matter where we are
Even now I still can smell that bitter sweetened scent of lemon on my heart
Couldn’t take a single step until the clouds and rain had part
To this day I’ve never changed you are my only shining star

In the dark I closed my eyes and drew the you I though I knew
I recall every emotion even here all on my own
But there’s still a looming agony at times
I just can’t fight I'm alone painting a ghost that leaves me crying through the night
Tell me what did you do today?
What was making you look that way?
Never once had I seen your face so covered in pain

If beyond the raining you are waiting
Reaching for a light that’s gone and fading
If the lonely tears are only burning and are smothering
Your heart won’t you just forget the fool that’s searching
So he could hold you in his arms
And I pray that you could keep on walking no matter where you are
To this day I’ve never changed you are my only shining star

More than I had ever knew
I was so in love with you
Since that time I can’t undo
Taking breath just hurts me too
Even now I sometimes think it’s strange
Just how long we spent that way
But I swear I won’t forget those days
