Standing at the fire escape next to the stairs
I begin to realize just how we got here
your golden hair's draped all over my shoulder

your happiness brings me up for a while
you watch the sunset while I stare into your eyes
my heart is racing but I don't know why

what if a photo album spoke, would the ink tell the truth?
what about when my heart broke, all the sadness has no proof
I want to be sad but I can't, your smile lifts my spirit
stuck in my heads never-ending rant, the past fades forever and I fear it

I'm walking backwards as I flip throught the pages
looking at my life through all the different stages
the sky ignites with the fire that we've started
night turns to day as the flames are so ardent

I'm so confused, through your pictures I commiserate
knowing as the photos do, the past will desinigrate
like a fairy tale, I take what I remember
now I tell you what I told her in November
