Biografía de Blur
Blur es el nombre de una banda inglesa de Britpop. Llamada Seymour en un principio, el nombre se adoptó por orden de la discográfica. Blur se formó en Londres en 1989 por Damon Albarn (vocalista, tecladista, guitarrista), Graham Coxon (guitarrista) y Alex James (bajista). Posteriormente, el batería Dave Rowntree se unió a la formación.
Blur fue una de las bandas británicas que aparecieron en el inicio de la caída del grupo británico The Stone Roses, mezclando psicodelia pop rock con fuertes guitarras. Siguiendo el cambio de imagen a mediados de los 90, el grupo se erigió como uno de los más populares bandas de Reino Unido, proclamándose como herederos de la tradición Pop inglesa de grupos como The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Who, The Jam, Madness y The Smiths. En el proceso, el grupo abrió las puertas a una nueva generación de bandas cuyo movimiento se engloba en el Britpop.
